Purpose of the job:

  • To issue, manage and co-ordinate permits to work, ensuring minimal disruption to the Road
  • Network in accordance with the Permitting Scheme and the NRSWA and TMA compliance. All planning activities to be as per the requirements of Openreach.

Key job responsibilities:

  • All personnel shall be committed to the delivery of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements defined in current company policies & procedures.
  • Effectively coordinate, plan and manage the workload of the reinstatement gangs to ensure maximum efficiency; ensuring the Company works do not clash with those of others (utilities and other boroughs) and cause congestion of the network.
  • Managing the administration and planning required to resolve defects
  • Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the TMA (Traffic Management Act) are met
  • Regularly liaising with the local authorities to minimise the impact of charges and ensure fast resolution of highway issues arising from reinstatement
  • Producing regular reports as required by Openreach.
  • Operate in compliance with company procedures, best practices, and any current legislation.
  • Perform other duties as this may be required from time to time.
  • Monitor the work site clear and reinstatement group system to ensure all works are closed within the 2-hour time scale.
  • Any failures must be documented to show any potential FPN’s the company may incur
  • Register all jobs within 24 hours of permit actual stop submission
  • Update & Maintain our clients KPI report (Weekly)
  • Sending out Permit End Dates report to ensure the business does not incur S74 Charges
  • Create & permit all Interim to Perm/ Defect jobs
  • Submit work starts on street manager
  • Running inspection report multiple times, a day to ensure all high/low risk cat A failures.
  • Running comments off the Street Manager system, ensuring you highlight any Over Runs.
  • End of Day report to be sent on the current status of each job.
  • Reinstatement extensions and variations.

Core Competencies:

  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of street works activities.
  • Good knowledge of reinstatement types and processes
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge
