Instalcom are looking for a Project Manager to join our team, for a project we have in the Reading area.

The purpose of this role:

  • The Project Manager reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for managing, directing and implementing the site management teams through the Construction & Installation (Execution & Control) phase over multiple Projects, in accordance with the Contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality matters are managed on all project sites under his control.
  • Providing project site management, to ensure design & pre-construction input, as well as construction & installation of multiple projects to meet all contractual requirements are carried out.
  • Support to all aspects of the Front line Managers role and that of the project site teams.
  • Managing labour & subcontract resources in close liaison with the Works Managers across multiple project sites to deliver the projects to budget, to programme and to contract requirements.
  • Assist the Area Manager to plan and allocate appropriate supervisory resources to individual sites across the whole area as required by the site management team.
  • Supporting the Front line Managers in managing direct hires and sub-contractors.
  • Assist the Front Line Managers in providing site progress reports to the Area Manager.
  • Ensure all weekly and monthly reporting requirements are met by the site management teams and communicated to the relevant Managers and other members of the Alliance Team as required.
  • Provide immediate and early warnings to the Area Manager on problem issues and potential major over spends as soon as they occur.
  • As required, provide assistance to the Construction Manager (Core Team) on constructability issues during the solutions & identification phase of a project and manage the resource allocation to any early construction activities that may take place during this phase of a project.
  • Close liaison with all other members of the Alliance Team responsible for the multiple projects that are assigned to the Area Construction Manager.

Core Competencies:

  • HNC (Construction related).
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Construction activities.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Manager – Platinum, Black, Experienced Supervisor or Manager.

The remuneration package for this role is competitive and will depend on the skills/ experience of the candidate.
